There's three things 19 years old Shawn Turner From Genoa, IL hears more of on a regular basis these days: "Congratulations!", "Whaaat?!" and "You suck!!!". The "You suck" usually coming from me as my ultra therapeutic way of keeping amazing skaters grounded after landing some banged out trick and everyone is freakin out. Funny thing is, I don't think he hears any of it, at least nothing until good friend skater/filmer Joey Adamczyk replays the footage, the hand wave and Shawn flashes a humble grin approving the take. Shawns the only one there not completely blown away by his precision, style and commitment. That's because Shawn is always hyped and buzzing with an even flow electricity that be it rolling to a spot or switch flipping a set, it's all good, he's skating and truly grateful for the moment!

Representing grassroots skateboarding, Shawn has managed to collect some support along the way. He's been a solid associate of Chicago based Character Skateboards, rides for Lakai Shoes, Wellborn Clothing, Nature Hardware, SMLTWN Skate Shop and more.

Most recently Shawn took Transworld's Ball Park Franks Best Trick Contest throwing down hammers such as a Halfcab Heelflip Noseslide 270 Out and a few others just to lock it up.

Truly one of the nicest, talented and most humble cats around, Shawn's future is not only bright, it's lit the hell up. Yeah, I might yell "You Suck Shawn" but you better believe the joke is in the words, being the furthest thing from the truth. Peep the photo, footy and keep your eyes open for Shawn Turner this summer. It's gonna be hot!
