Yo Wonjun.
Hey, what's up man!

Chillin’, what’s up?
Nothin’… wait, who is this?

It’s Adam from Focus!
Oh shoot, what’s going on man!

(laughing) So let’s get this thing done. Tell me how long you have been performing these illustrations here.
Oh, just as long as I can remember. I’ve been drawing for a long time, but just real on and off. Never too consistent.

So what did you decide, to go to school or something?
No, I never went to art school. When I really started getting serious with art was my senior year of high school. I moved to Oregon for my last year of high school. It really rained a lot out there so I had a lot of free time and couldn’t skate, so I’d just chill in my garage and try to draw and paint.

Where do you live now?
I live in Boca Raton, Florida. I’ve been from here my whole life. My parents just moved out to Oregon my senior year, and I moved back as soon as I graduated. I didn’t really like it out there ‘cause it rained so much and that stopped me from skating.

What do you get the most artistic influence from?
Stencil art. That really got me into it. I remember looking at stencil revolution and that really blew me away.

Do you go out at night and shit?
I used to, but I’m going to start to go out again a lot this winter. It’s going to be awesome weather. Just go out in our hoodies and tag a bunch of shit up. I’m in the process of making more stencils right now. Put jabone everywhere.

What kind of medium do you use?
Most of it is spray paint. I’ll start by doing the illustration and then cut it out. I’ll use the cut out as a stencil and use it to spray the background onto the canvas, which is usually wood. Then I’ll go over that with paint markers and pen in detail. I don’t use brushes that much. I use a lot of spray paint. I do a lot of my work on wooden canvases.

So, do you do any work on skateboards?
Yeah. I painted a board for Ben Gore that he hung at his house. Right now I’m designing a board for BC Surf and Sport that they are going to print. Sometimes dudes will just give me an old deck and want me to paint something on it. It’s kinda hard though because they’re always real beat up and scratched up, so it’s hard to paint over them. I’m not doing it that often now because I work at a screenprinting place doing tee shirts for Eulogy Records. They’re getting real busy now, so a lot of my time is used up. So right now I’m just doing the BC deck.

Any shouts?
Oh yeah! Jake Matt, Josh Martinez, Eric Ostos a.k.a. One-in-a-Million, The Den, The Frat, Mike Gratz, Legend Lindholm, Joe and Justin, Eulogy Records, No Idea Records, Good Bye Blue Skies Records, Double or Nothing Records, Casey Donley, John Hamilton, Lowell, Know the Score, On Our Own, Low Cool, Escape Grace, Suicide Note, Nick Barry, Keith Keller, Ross Brieman, Tombus, Garret Krinsky, Jasper, Dougie Fresh, MORTAL KOMBAT TRILOGY, Adam G at Focus for making this happen! BC Surf and Sport, and Neighborhood Skateshop.
