Yo Dan. What’s going on playa?
Yo, what’s up man? Sorry ‘bout the missed calls.

It's cool. I'm used to phone tag. So, what is going on? You skate today?
Yeah, actually when you called I was filming with my friends.

Where were you filming at?
At the high school in my town. It’s one of the few spots we have and it is still nothing good.

What sorts of obstacles do you like skating?
I used to be into gaps and stuff, but now I'm more into just weird, obscure stuff. I just skate the manual pad at the skate park now. I'm not a big rail-dog like Matt Jones or Ed Fuentes.

Yeah. Is it ‘cause you are a scared, limp noodle?
Yeah, pretty much. But, even if I did do one, I wouldn’t do something that some little kid hasn't already done. If you grew up in my town you’d understand.

I say limp noodle ‘cause your nickname, to me, is a sort of pasta. Whenever I mention you, I just call you Dan Tortellini. I think I’m dyslexic or something. Do you have any other nicknames?
Yeah, Toot is the most famous one. Tooty and Tooty-Fruity are a few others. And actually, when I went to the first X-Games street comp in Philly, and I
asked Ricky Oyola to sign my hat ‘cause I thought I was cool, and he saw my name, he said if he were my friend he'd just call me ToTo. But, I have to say, Tortellini is the best so far.

Well, I guess you are not too fruity, though. I hear you are a big pimp.
No way man. It’s just my girl Patti and me. I am far from a pimp. I dunno
where you heard that.

What happened with this whole Florida road trip story?
Oh, that was my girlfriend, Patti. She’s the best. I was kinda homesick being in Florida for so long. Ed had left, Matt was with some girl, and I was
joking to my girlfriend one night to come and pick me up, and she did. She's nuts! She drove all the way from NJ to Miami just to get me. The ride home was crazy. I think, out of the twenty-two hour trip, I drove about sixteen hours straight. I started allucinating at one point, and I thought the line of traffic was just a sign. Oh, and I saw a turtlehead in the sky. No lie.

Do you have a job?
Yeah, but I’d like to find a real one ASAP. I work part-time at Feet First. It’s a shoe store/little skate shop, but I make no money there.

You should work in a pasta factory.
I wish. They could name things after me, like Dan Tutalo's Famous Tortellini Rolls or something. I don't really even know what tortellini looks like, to tell you the truth.

Dude, you should open a restaurant and call it that.
You wanna go halves? It'll be an Italian place and we could serve Mazur’s Meatballs with Dan Tutalo’s Famous Tortellini Rolls.

Have you lived in The Garden State your whole life, so far?
Yeah.

Do you live by the shore, or more inland?
I live fifteen minutes from Seaside and thirty minutes from Long Beach Island so, I guess that’s the shore. I'm not good at all with geography stuff.

Do you surf or anything then?
No way! Growing up here, I’m so over the beach. I hate the water.

Dude, I’m so glad to hear you are not a gay skim border. Do you know any?
Not really. The only time I ever tried skim boarding was on the boardwalk when I was like fourteen, with my friends Craig and Joe Kalucki. We called it urban skimming, but that’s the only time I’ve really done it.

Okay. Well, that should be good enough. Now for thank you’s. You can choose one sponsor and three people. Choose wisely grasshopper.
For real?

Yes, I am for real. I’m doing the interviewing, so no questions from you.
Shit. Umm. Well, I'm wearing an Ergo shirt in the photo, so I guess Syintific Skateboards. My beautiful girlfriend Patti, my sister Lisa or else she’d kill me, and Nick Napolitano.

Okay. Well, I’m going to delete one random one before it goes to press.
No problem.
